 CULTURE SHOCK   Jan. 28th 2013

The last few days have been straight up crazy!!! We have been teaching 3-5 lessons a day and I have no idea what anyone is saying even when they are speaking English.  It's has definitely been a culture shock.

The transportation here is insane. There aren't many jeepneys but there are trikes everywhere.  It is a dirt bake with a side car and there is no limit to how many people can be on it.

I am serving in Echague with Elder Daluz; he is the D.L. and is very nice and helps me a lot.

Last email from America!

Hello Family,

Well this is the last email from America and it feels kinda weird.  We got up to do laundry one last time and got permission to email.   Its funny because we cross the dateline we essentially go straight from Monday to Wednesday.
Last Tuesday Elder Holland randomly showed up for our devotional and spoke for about an hour.  It was awesome because it got our butts in gear the last week.  At the end he explained that because the MTC had remodeled a few building that a dedicatory prayer was needed.  He gave a beautiful prayer and ended his talk.  You could feel the shock and awe going throughout the audience.  It was amazing!!!
I love you all!  And I hope everyone is well.  Thank you for all the prayers and support.  I have the greatest family ever!

Braden's Christmas Testimony

Hello Again!

The MTC Presidency asked us all to send an email to our families explaining what Christmans means to us and our testimonies about the Saviour.

Christmas in the MTC has been interesting. The gifts and presents have been kept to a minimum, the caroling and overabundance of food still exists but in a different way. Although things are different, the spirit is still the same. That Christmas spirit once seemed different that the Holy Ghost, but now I realize that they are one and the same. The Holy Ghost testifies of truth so why would it not testify of the birth of the Savior of the world. I know that Jesus died for us to save us from our sins, grief and pain. All he asks of us is to come unto him. How great a time this is! We have been given a gift; all we have to do is use it. I know why I'm out here. It's to share this gift with others and to bring others to the knowledge that through Christ we can all be saved and live, grow and progress. I know that this is true. I love you all. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Merry Christmas,

Love Elder Cousin

Time Flies

An Update from Elder Cousin

December 25th, 2012: "Everyone is getting a little excited because we are finally picking up the language and things are making more sense and we can kind of use Tagalog. I really am excited to go to the Philippines. I was thinking about it the other day and the month and a half I have been here has flown by. I only have 22 months left. That's not a lot of time! I realize how important buckling down and working hard is, because in a blink of an eye this time will be over.
